What we keep, and for how long.
Analogue is a workshop in Cairo. This page says what our website records about you, what we do with it, how long we hold it, and how to ask us to change or remove it. It was last revised on 1 September 2026.
When you buy
An order records your name, email address, telephone number, the delivery address and what you bought. We keep orders as a permanent record of sale, because the law and our own accounts require it. If you close your account, the order stays but your name and contact details are removed from it.
Payment is taken by Paymob. Your card details go to them, not to us; we receive a payment reference and the result.
When you make an account
An account holds your name, email address, telephone number, a delivery address if you asked us to remember one, and a password if you chose to set one. Passwords are stored hashed; nobody at Analogue can read one or set one for you. We keep a log of each sign-in — the time, the network address and the browser — so that you can see it and so that we can spot a sign-in that was not you.
Membership standing — your tier, your points and when they lapse — is calculated from your orders and shown on your account page.
While you browse
Our website tells our back office what a visitor looks at: the pages opened, the pieces viewed, what was typed into the shop's search box, what was put into the bag and taken out of it, and the moment a checkout is started. Each record carries the time, the network address and the browser.
Until you sign in or buy, this is tied only to a random identifier that your own browser made up and keeps in its storage — not to you. When you sign in or complete an order, what that browser looked at beforehand is attached to your customer record, so that the studio can see what you were interested in before you bought.
We keep this browsing record for 180 days and then delete it. Orders are the record of what you bought; this is only the record of what you looked at, and it goes stale.
If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, nothing is recorded at all. Clearing your browser's site data removes the identifier; the next visit starts as a stranger.
Cookies and storage
We set one cookie, and only when you sign in: it keeps you signed in to your account. Your bag and the browsing identifier described above live in your browser's own storage, not in a cookie. We run no advertising and no third-party analytics.
We write to you about your own orders and your account whether or not you have joined our letter — an order confirmation is not marketing. The occasional letter is sent only to people who asked for it, and every one carries a link that removes you from the list.
Who sees it
The studio's own staff, in our back office, to serve your order and answer your questions. The companies that run our servers, deliver our email and take payment process data on our behalf and on our instruction. We do not sell or share your details with anyone else.
Your choices
From your account page you can change your name, telephone number and address, change your email address (confirmed from the new inbox), set or reset your password, leave the letter, and close the account. Closing it removes your name and contact details and deletes your browsing record and membership standing; the record of what was sold remains, without you on it.
